Yeah, and when you see a photo like this: (My buddy bought the bike off this guy^^^^) and you hear me say it has a dead rear shock and blown front shocks, you can see why.. Here's my buddy ripping it up: He kinda rides like he's going 100mph, so it's kinda humorous to watch.

Because nobody has done it with a Tecate, it took come guesswork and a lot of math and help from various 3 wheeler enthusiasts to figure out how to appropriately source components. I had 65 watts to work with, or basically a total output of 4.7 amps. The 55 watt HID already draws 4 amps on its own, and coupled with the 10 LED's I have a total power consumption of 4.3 amps or so, which leaves me with a headroom of about 0.4 amps to keep the battery charged. Had to float the ground on my lighting coil, then run the leads to a TrailTech Voltage Regulator Rectifier unit to rectify the AC current to DC current, which allows me to run a battery in the system (to act as a DC filter and keep all of the lights lit up solidly, rather than flickering). Need to get a new light switch to replace the busted one on my Tecate, then run the hot lead to that so I can flip the lights on/off at will. I'm not going to bother with switches for the accessory lights, they will either be on or off. It's pretty easy to do it to any ATV as long as it has a lighting coil in it. You have to float the ground, run a TrailTech Voltage Regulator Rectifier, a 12v 4-7AH battery, then make your own wiring harness for all of the lights. Lights like LED's and HID's NEED a constant DC voltage, thus the need for a battery and the DC conversion. They don't work with AC (they will flicker like mad) which is what most vehicles are powered by. Regular headlights don't care what the power source is, they work perfectly with either AC or DC current, and they don't mind the voltage vary-ance from engine RPM. HID's and LED's do. It's best to find out what your coils output is first though, if it has one. If it doesn't, and there isn't an aftermarket kit that allows you to run lights, then you have to use a battery, and recharge it each time, which means you need to also keep a voltage meter on it to tell when it's time to recharge. Anyways, here's the completed lighting: That HID lights up my entire street, can easily see up to 400 feet away. There are 7 LED's underneath, and 3 in the tail light- only 3 LED's, and it's brighter than a stock 12v 5w tail lamp! Still need to finish off wiring up the system so it runs off of the engine and a motorcycle battery- right now it's just being powered off of a couple of 3S lipos. Oh, and the LED's have heat shrink tubing over them that has adhesive inside, which is shrunk around the entire unit and then pressed flat over the wires. Then I bent it at a 90* angle (the output prongs on the LED) and zip tied it to the frame. Simple and it works well. The LED's in the tail light are soldered to the bulb socket, and it's strong. I've dropped it probably 10 times while working on it and they haven't broke. I must be good at soldering ;D

Definately don't want to overload the flux capacitor either!! That is a cool set of pics and great write up on the "how to" also. You did your homework for sure.
Love dem trikes guys!!!!
