Well, as some of you know, a couple buddies and me went down to Little Sahara for a spring break trip. Let me tell you, it was a blast to get out there and see what the ole raptors were made of. We arrived there around 12:30 friday afternoon, set up our campsite, then we hit the sand. It's so nice to be able to get out in the open with your quad be able to push the quad(or yourself) to the limit all the time.
After we got back to camp, my buddy who has a built raptor, decided that he was going to change out his cam and do a dyno tune to make that baby purr. His dyno results for his raptor was 70hp(I'm not sure on the torque), it is a pretty impressive number for was kinda of build he has. I took it for a short ride and let me tell ya, that this is FAST.
This time out, we didn't spend a lot of time out in the open dunes. We all really enjoy speeding through the trails and hitting all the whoops, it really turns out to be quite the work out, haha. But probably my favorite riding out there is doing the tree shoots. The tree shoots out there are steep climbing trails where you have to go around trees in order to get to the top. The sand is pretty loose and deep around there, needless to say, if your not careful you will be spending a lot of time lifting your quad out of stuck sand. Which happend to us a few times.
The only thing I could have asked to better out there, was the weather. Friday was the perfect day to ride, well Friday night it got down to about 45 degrees, and it didn't change the rest of our time out there. We woke up Saturday morning in the rain, and that sucked. But other than that it was a great time, and I can't wait to head back out there for another run.
My buddy took a few pics out there, so if he ever gets them on the net, I will be happy to share them with you all.
PS: Sorry for such a long story, but I really enjoy going out there and I also enjoy sharing my experiences with everybody. So I hope you all like it.
