They posted this on the 3wheeler site that I frequent, and thought it would be interesting to hear local opinions. I've never understood the whole Republican vs. Democrat situation. I can't understand how someone would fit the entire "theme" of one party, and not agree with some "ideas" of the other party. Anyhow, thought this was an interesting read, and baffled that one party voted against the other on such a program:
Did you all know that we came four votes away (3:00 AM Vote) from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations as the Senate considered amendments to the fiscal 2014 budget back in March?.
I certainly missed it since it was during amendment discussions in Senate considering amendments to the fiscal 2014 budget.
In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
All 45 Republicans in the Senate, along with eight Democrats, voted for the amendment not to let this happen....46 Senators voted for it! Don't these 46 have a sworn duty to uphold the Consititution and defend the U.S.
The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo. NOTE: this is the intent of the U.N Treaty, which hasn't even been written yet, at the time of this vote. Sound familiar.
Astonishingly, 46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.
Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N.
